During a storm the village gets flooded and Biboy goes missing. When he is found wounded, he explains to his father and the villagers that floods are caused by excessive logging. His father realizes the consequences of their actions and calls a meeting with the community to find livelihood alternatives to protect the forest and thus their own lives.
SEA KINGDOM
Animals living at the court of King Shark report on the state of the sea. When the shark, sea cow and turtle are caught in a net, the octopus holds the fisher man’s son Tikyo down and the dolphin explains how people are destroying the reefs and are endangering their own livelihood through dynamite fishing, mangrove destruction etc. Tikyo explains all to his father, who is the leader of a fishing group. At last it is decided to establish a sanctuary and make life happy and peaceful for everybody in the marine kingdom.
About Animo.
Animo is a non-profit educational puppet theater group of youth conservationists, dedicated to spreading the importance of the environment and its influence on people's life. These puppet theater shows have been performed at schools, barangays, and community celebrations since 2000. Animo delivers stories rooted in the reality of Philippine life, presenting sensitive environmental issues in a non confrontational way, entertaining and educating children, teenagers and adults.
Young people create and perform their own shows and thereby learn about local environmental issues in their social, political and cultural context. They enhance their leadership skills, script writing, and public speaking, teach other youth, and become role models for the audience and community.
DED was sponsoring this event while having a booth together with our partner Figaro Foundation at the German Month Expo. Free organic coffee was served the whole time.
