Documentary series 2005 contains four stories: .  

Surfing under the Sun
How does an isolated island without electricity hook up to the World Wide Web? The DED worked with CITE in Cebu to develop the Philippines' first Solar-Powered Internet Laboratory on the Island of Cabilao. In a partnership with local dive resorts whose guests can surf the web at the local high school, after only one year the project has become self-sustaining.

Fish for the Future
To ensure the next generation of fishermen in Bohol will have fish to catch, a marine biologist from the DED is working with PROCESS-Bohol, coordinating with LGU's and teaching local communities how to set up and monitor their own fish sanctuaries. The future of the reefs and fish of Maribojoc Bay is thus made secure.

High Tech Hopes
Out of poverty, and into technology: for many disadvantaged young women in Pampanga, the DED's aid has been life-changing. The DED facilitated the upgrading of the electronics program of the Mary Our Help Technical School for Woman in Mabalacat. By helping them link up with industrial partners through the Dual Training System, the school now has guaranteed jobs for all their graduates.

Beyond Politics and Power: A New Peace in Mindanao
Working with Balay Mindanaw, an NGO tasked as the independent for the GRP-RPMM peace talks, the DED is supporting a development-based peace process that may finally help bring about lasting peace to the island of Mindanao.

Director Kidlat de Guia

The documentareis were directed by Kidlat de Guia, a young Filipino-German filmmaker who is gaining a well-deserved reputation as among the upcoming crop of young Filipino filmmakers. He is also the son and namesake of the older Kidlat Tahimik (Eric de Guia), an internationally known videographer and artist.
